Raat Akeli Hai Movie Review

The murder mysteries are not old and some of the best Indians, Hollywood and cinema in the world must be killed. Last week, we saw actor-director Mukesh Chabra, Lil Saga Dil Behzara's director. This week, another acting director, Honey Trehan, hands over the director's hat. For his debut, he picks up a mysterious murder mystery, RAAT AKELI HAI. So does RAAT AKELI HAI manage to entertain the audience and thrill them? Or fail? let's study.

RAAT AKELI HAI is the story of a policeman who is investigating a complex murder case. Inspector Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) from Belgaum, Kanpur informed about a murder that took place in his constituency one night. The murder took place on Dhani Tagore Raghubir Singh (Khalid Dabji). Coincidentally, it is Raghuvir's second wedding day, with his wife Radha (Radhika Apte). Raghuveer's first wife Kavita Singh (Natasha Rastogi) died five years ago in a hit and run case, which remained unsolved. Raghuvir's son-in-law Vikram Singh (Nishant Tahia) reports that he last spoke to Raghuveer at 11:30 am. Meanwhile, Radha does not give the right answer and raises suspicion against Jatil and his accomplice Nandu (Sridhar Dubey). Other family members include son Karan (Nitesh Tiwari), daughter Karuna (Sweta Tripathi Sharma), son-in-law Ravi Sisodia (Gyanendra Tripathi), daughter-in-law Vasudha (Shivpal Raghuvanshi), brother-in-law Pramila Singh (Padmavati Rao) and assistant Sunni (Riya Shukla). He acted with suspicion and cannot think whether Jatil had any connection with this Radha. At the same time, he conspired with and charmed her. Meanwhile, Radha hates other family members and one day she is about to attack Karan's hand and Jadil slaps her and stops her. This enrages Ravi and he also complains that he is a close friend of local MLA Munna Raja (Aditya Srivastava) Raghubir Singh. Munna proved that Jatil's manner of questioning was improper and complained to Jatil's senior SSP Lalji Shukla (Dikmanshu Tulia). Jadil soon learns that Munna Raja was also involved in the murder of Raghuveer's first wife. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

The story of Smita Singh is promising, and it brings a twilight of last year's Hollywood film KNIVES OUT. However, it would be wrong to conclude that RAAT AKELI HAI is a copy, as it did in the past. But the resemblance lies not only in the murder mystery, but also in the structure of the house! Smita Singh's screenplay is a great spoof. The script should be completely watery and stressful. Instead, most parts of the film do not need to be dragged into multiple locations when the test ends. Also, the film is very long with a run time of 2.29 hours. Smita Singh's verses are fine.

Honey Tiren's direction is average. Technically, he got the film right and used the location, setting and capturing the best performances from his cast. But on the flip site, they take a lot of time to get to this point because the story doesn't have to wander from here to there. Some improvements are also quite incredible. When such a murder occurs, the investigating police should have a proper grill for each person in the house. Instead, Jatil focuses more on Radha and Vikram Singh. In one scene, he reveals that his junior is interrogating, but is not shown. It was only in the second half that Jatil finally questioned Karuna and the others. The way he heard it was something he had to ask the night of the murder! The film has many more silly opportunities. Jadil keeps a nursing statement in the next part of the film. A dedicated police officer like him should immediately investigate its contents thoroughly. Instead, he forgot about it, and remembered a few days later while he was waiting for his train at the train station! As a result of those moments, the film failed to engage. RAAT AKELI HAI determines the mood starting with the most frightening and lively note. Jatil Yadav's introduction to the staff and his relationship with his mother (Ila Arun) was a joke. The opening scenes of the murder mystery are very enticing. But at some point, interest starts falling. Some of the scenes are as catchy and glamorous as jade tanning, mercy testing and queue chasing action, but for the rest of the time, the film is now spreading. The last 20 minutes are when the mystery is solved. This is unexpected, but thanks to the slow speed and long length, the desired effect has not been achieved.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is with his organ as usual. It is interesting how he tried to add a new one to every performance and RAAT AKELI HAI is no exception. Radhika Apte leaves a big mark and plays the role of a mysterious and confused woman. Nishant Tahiya is a bit flamboyant, but it works for his character. Sridhar Dubey was fine at first, but recovered in the second half. Ila Arun is funny and a little touching. Sveta Tripathi Sharma did not get much security at first. However, he revealed his presence in the second half. Gyanendra Tripathi is above the requirements of his constituents. Siwani Raghuvanshi is very good in the latter half of the film. Padmavati Rao is humble. Aditya Srivastava is fine, but his character fears an attack. Digmanshu Tulia wasted. Khalid Dibaji is no more. The same situation is with Nitesh Tiwari. In fact, his character has nothing to do with the film to which it was attached. Ravi Bhushan (chickens) is very scared and penetrates well in the area. Swanand Kirkire (Ramesh Chauhan) is good at building construction. Riya Shukla is an actress. Baljinder Kaur (Sunni's grandmother) is very good in a small role. Natasha Rastogi and Vijay Kumar Dogra (driver Ramadin) have no rights.

Sneha Kanwalkar's music will never be forgotten. All three songs ‘Jako’, songs Kom Sarkaya ’and ade ad ade se’ are lifeless shelves. However, Sukhwinder Singh's song 'Kom Sarkaya' received some praise. Karan Kulkarni has a subtle background and a sense of mystery. Pankaj Kumar's cinematography is superb and captures the beautiful situations and moments of the film. Shruti Kapoor's clothes are straight in life. Product design by Rita Ghosh, Vinay Narg, Neodhi Upadhyay is realistic. The action of Harpal Singh Pali is interesting. Editing of Shrikar Prasad is very bad, and the picture should be less than 30-40 minutes.

Overall, RAAT AKELI HAI is a slow, long and flawed murder mystery. Presentations and climaxes only save grace.
