 Bob Biswas Review

"Namoshkar. Aami Bob Biswas. Ek Minute". Bhebha !!

The shock caused by this hired killer Sujoy Ghosh of Kahaani (2012) brings chaos up to nine years after the real one when Abhishek Bachchan replaces the rare Saswata Chatterjee of Kahaani.

Bob has returned home after losing his memory in an accident. We are not told what really happened to him but instead, he has reunited with his family which includes his wife (Chitrangada Singh), son (Ronith Aurora) and adopted daughter (Samara Tijori). Fast enough, Bob is contacted by his former employer to take action and the modus operandi is still the same as the previous one. The photo is posted on Bob's flip-top mobile with the name. Bob follows the man and shoots him down. There is a drug racket angle added to the system with a blue pill that is becoming a favorite among students as it can increase their focus on tests. What !!

While Bob's character is very engaging due to its strong predecessor, the screen game as a whole has many loopholes with incomplete endings. Accident angle, for the first time. Why Bob frees his friend and is left in the same mindset. Also, who gives him the assignment in the end? Well, most of the plot points remain unanswered here !!

For the actors, Abhishek Bachchan presents a talented work in the title role but is unable to keep up with Saswata’s level of ingenuity in Kahaani. It is nice to see Chitrangada Singh on screen after a long time and the always beautiful actress expresses beauty and sexual attraction even in a non-glamorous role. It really is a pleasure to be seen as Bob's supportive wife. Notice how he reacted when his boss (Amar Upadhyay) passed by him. Surely that incident is taalimaar !! Samara Tijori, who plays a college kid addicted to drugs, is well received. My favorite character in the film was an elderly Kali da starring Paran Bandopadhyay. The scenes between him and Abhishek are high. The Shri Krishna statue of Kaalia mardan is beautifully woven here.

Obviously, Sujoy has the ability to write good characters but he can't put them on the screen as impressively as he did with Kahaani. Anyway, Bob Biswas made a fun watch at one time on Zee5 but no doubt, this one had the potential to be the next Kanaani or past that ... film misses this bus !!
