Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers Review

I grew up with Chip 'n Dale shorts from the early years of Disney. I didn’t get many views of the original Rescue Rangers but I enjoyed some of the episodes. I was skeptical about how Disney's latest films were lacking and how much they were full of their movies. But I love Samberg so I gave it a chance. I didn't really like it.

Cartoons are trying to be 2D like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" with the touch of a live action but in reality it looks like trash. There are times when there are cartoon errors and it looks really bad. The color palette looks very different from the background many times as if animation had not yet been completed. None of the new characters were interested in it at all as they felt written down, annoyed, or just did not need to enter. As much as I like most characters, voice imitation means nothing and is really annoying. Samberg and Mulvany are great comedians but as a duo, I was not a big fan of it as it made my ears almost bleed. The dialogue is very clever and really bad. I almost felt like watching a Dhar Mann film.

The meta-commentary tries to play hard with its many references such as jokes about the evil sonic design, movie Cats, the Robert Zeckemis Stop movement period, and many other features. But as the meta goes, it really sounds like the writers and directors were just trying to pull themselves together and say "You see? I'm making fun of other buildings because I know more about them! So I'm smarter and more funny. Than you" kind of feeling. It's like a child trying to be in a group and doing all he can to impress people. It's not a good meta but it's just a bad and hopeless attempt to be a meta. Criticism of how a cat movie looks bad but the Chip n Dale designs look ugly and very scary seems confusing when I think about it. What they did to the character of Peter Pan was shocking and they knew what happened to the first voice character who suffered from alcoholism, in fact, that’s a small thing. Am I laughing like that? Maybe, but I didn't. As if Disney couldn't control themselves.

The best part is that the song fits well and there are good colors shown in the film. Bad. At least there was more love than Space Jam: A New Legacy. But I better look at Neil Breen.

People will love this movie as I have never seen so many negative comments and so many good ideas. If you like a movie, that's fine. Just my opinion is absurd and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
