Dog Review
I
saw a trailer for this movie about a dog, I saw a great character next
to a dog, and I was ready to watch a dog movie, it must have taken years
for the creators to think about the title (haha). Basically, Jackson
Briggs (Channing Tatum, also producer and director) is a U.S. veteran.
Army Ranger who had suffered in the past and injuries that sidelined him
from service. Despite medical warnings about certain permanent
disabilities, especially post-traumatic stress disorder, she is
determined to return to the ministry, as it gives her a sense of purpose
and meaning. The officer gives Briggs a chance to be returned to
Rangers, who have been repeatedly fired. He will be reinstated if he
agrees to do work, bringing in a Military dog, the fiery Belinois of
Belgium, Lulu (played with three dogs), at the funeral of the family of a
veteran who worked with Briggs. The dog has done many acts of rescuing
courage during the service but has been traumatized by being on the
battlefield and no one can approach him without being aggressive; has
sent three people to hospital. Lulu will be chased, as the dog is not
stable enough to fly, until the funeral, she will be silenced and given
anti-depressant medication. After the funeral, he will be laid to rest.
Briggs said he would do anything to get back into the ministry but he
did not want to do this. If Briggs is able to bring Lulu in safely and
without a problem, she can get the permission she needs, so she agrees
without hesitation. The trip takes them down the Pacific Coast from
Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington to Nogales, Arizona. During the
trip, Briggs snorts, and the dog tore through his car seats, much to his
frustration. Later, the dog uses its sniffer to detect a couple who are
planting marijuana / marijuana, but Tamara (Jane Adams) and Gus (Kevin
Nash) turn out to be an unexpected help to calm Lulu down. Briggs finds
himself talking to the dog about different things and finds himself
tying it up a little bit. Along the way, Briggs decides to cheat like a
blind man, with Lulu being his guide dog, in order to get a free hotel
room and room service. There was an uproar when Lulu ran to the hotel
causing a disturbance, and Briggs was eventually arrested, but was
released after explaining the situation to police. There was also a
point when he visited his ex-partner, Noah (My Name Is Ethan Suplee of
Earl), to get advice about the dog and his ex. Then the journey stops
when Briggs' car runs out of gas, and they are unable to board. It is
raining heavily, and the nearest shelter is an unused shed, which
already has a bed and a TV. Briggs is very upset about everything that
happened and yells at the dog angrily. But he calms her down, fixes it,
and comforts her all night long. Finally, Briggs and Lulu arrive at the
veteran's funeral, and the family sees and enjoys seeing the dog. After
the funeral is over, Briggs returns to the place where Lulu will be
escorted, puts in her mucus and the police escort her away. But as he
was driving, he saw her barking to get back, and he drove again and made
excuses to pick her up. Eventually, Briggs reconnects with his wife and
child, and begins a new life, not really in the ministry, with Lulu as
his pet. She also starred in Q'orianka Kilcher as Niki, Emmy
Raver-Lampman as Bella, Nicole LaLiberte as Zoe, and Bill Burr as a
police officer. Tatum is as sensible as a man with a problem making an
emotional connection that gets rescued to help a troubled canine, works
well as a street film, and although a dog-friendly relationship with a
slightly hot man is common, it is still appealing. There is some humor,
but critical times are what make no prediction at all, it is all just a
funny joke. Worth to watch!
